Hij is op 30-06-1914 gekeurd voor de Nationale Militie. Ondanks de geconstateerde platvoeten is hij geschikt geachte voor de Nationale Militie, maar is plaatsing bij de infanterie niet gewenst. Hij si groot 1.696 meter. Op 01-10-1915 wordt hij geplaatst bij de Veld Artillerie.
In november 1922 neemt Petrus het bedrijf van H. op de Weegh in Limmen over en voegt daar een afdeling Rijwielen en Onderdelen aan toe (bron: Ons Blad : katholiek nieuwsblad voor N-H, 11-11-1922). Zijn beroep wordt verder vermeld als Rijwielhandelaar-smid. Op 02-06-1932 wordt het bedrijf failliet verklaard (bron: Algemeen Handelsblad, 06-06-1932), maar op 20-07-1932 wordt het faillissement weer opgeheven (bron: Utrechts Nieuwsblad, 20-07-1932). Op 30-03-1938 wordt het in 1930 gebouwde woonhuis van Petrus, samen met het winkelhuis, smederij en erf op een openbare veiling in Limmen te koop aangeboden (bron: Alkmaarsche Courant, 05-03-1938). De koper wordt M. Biesterbos uit Limmen voor een bedrag van fl. 4500,- (bron: Alkmaarsche Courant, 31-03-1938).
