Hij was burger te Utrecht in april 1815, molenbouwer, mr. timmerman (1823), architect, groot-aannemer van bouw-en waterbouwkundige werken, scheepsbouwer, eigenaar ijzergieterij en fabriek van werktuigen, scheepsbouwer en diaken en ouderling der hervormde gemeente te Utrecht. Met zijn zoons Willem Cornelis en Hendrik Willem hielp hij het aanleggen van grote spoorwegnetwerken in Rusland, Letland en de OekraÓne.

Zijn levensloop, gezin, karakter, maatschappelijke betrekkingen, verdiensten en lange reeks van bouwwerken in binnen-en buitenland zijn uitvoering beschreven in het ìGeslachtsregister van De Familie Verloopî opgeschreven door familie vriend Dr. G.A.
