Hij werkte mee om (Joodse) vluchtelingen naar Engeland te ontsnappen; werd opgepakt en pleegde zelfmoord vÚÚr zijn eerste verhoor door de Duitsers in de gevangenis in Brussel. Bron Internet:
ìDavid Verloop was een intelligente student. In 1938 aangekomen behaalde hij reeds in 1942 op 20-jarige leeftijd de graad van meester in de rechten. David wilde doorstuderen, maar de oorlog wierp roet in het eten. Hij ging in het verzet en werd op een gegeven moment belast met de taak om van Brussel uit de Dutch-Paris lijn in BelgiÍ te leiden. Daar vormde hij door zijn organisatorische talenten en aimabele persoonlijkheid een uiterst waardevolle schakel op de gevaarvolle route naar Spanje en trouwens menigmaal ook Zwitserland.
Nadat David Verloop gevangen was genomen, heeft hij zich op 7 maart 1944 van het leven beroofd om te voorkomen, dat hij bij het verhoren zou door slaan en namen zou gaan noemen.î
Hij is begraven te Zeist. In Almere is een straat is naar hem vernoemd.
