Hij was timmerman. Hij trouwde te Heerenveen en heeft zich daar in die buurt ca. 1830 gevestigd (Oudeschoot en Bovenknijpe). Komende vanuit Katwijk is hij de stamvader van de Verloop-tak ìFrieslandî.
Hij werd ingeloot voor de Nationale Militie (Zuid-Holland, op 4 november 1830), maar diende daar kennelijk niet. Op het ìCertificaatî staat vermeld als signalement (o.a.):
