Ook was hij o.m. voorzitter en regent van de Stichting Kon. Nederlands Gasthuis voor Ooglijders en zat in het bestuur van het Academisch Ziekenhuis Utrecht. Hij was mede-iniator van de samenstelling en uitgave van het originele Blauwe Boekje (CBG; patriciaat 1990).
