Klaas Verbruggen is overleden aan een hartinfart na een kerkdienst te hebben bijgewoond op weg naar zijn huis. Achter het ouderlijk huis (van zijn ouders?) had hij een kruidenierswinkeltje. Bijna dagelijks ging hij met zijn handkar er op uit om zijn kruidenierswaren te verkopen en/of bestellingen rond te brengen. Hiervoor had hij een grote gevlochten boodschappenmand
Klaas Verbruggen was een zeer gelovig man en woonde zondags trouw de kerkdiensten in de N.H. kerk bij.
