Johannes Hendrikus Vennegoor was lid van het verzet tijdens de 2e Wereld Oorlog.
Hij werd standrechtelijk doodgeschoten omdat hij na spertijd buiten zijn woning werd aangetroffen. (31 augustus 1944 ongeveer 22.30 uur)
In eerste instantie begraven te Steenderen, later herbegraven op het Ereveld te Loenen, Vak E graf nr. 1293
Johannes zou zeker in aanmerking zijn gekomen voor posthume uitreiking van het Verzetsherdenkingskruis.
Johannes Hendrikus wordt ook vermeld in de De Erelijst van Gevallenen 1940-1945 op pagina 730
Sinds 1960 ligt in de hal van ingang Binnenhof 1a van de Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal de Erelijst van Gevallenen 1940-1945. Dit document bevat de namen van degenen die in de Tweede Wereldoorlog als militair of als verzetsstrijder voor het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden zijn gevallen.
