    HANNES (Mr. Johan Abraham van Thye), geb. te Wesel 26 Aug. 1743, overl. te 's Hertogenbosch 16 Juni 1829, zoon van Johannes Wilhelm H., krijgsraad en schepen te Wesel, en van Johanna Benjamina van Thye.

    Hij was drossaard en dijkgraaf der hooge en vrije heerlijkheid Empel en Meerwijk, advocaat voor de hoven van Holland en Brabant, schepen en raad der stad Gorinchem en lid van Gecommitteerde raden van Holland.

    Hij was ook lid van verschillende geleerde genootschappen en de schrijver van een zeer geprezen werk: De Inauguratione Principum Belgicorum, dat hij aan prins Willem V heeft opgedragen.

    Bij nadering van de uitsterving van het geslacht van Thye werd hij door die familie als stamhouder aangenomen en hem bij familieverdrag naam en wapen en alle privilegiën en rechten der van Thye's opgedragen, evenals of hij uit het mannelijk oir van dit geslacht rechtstreeks was gesproten.

    Hij huwde te Gorinchem 29 Mei 1767 Anna Christina van Barnevelt, geb. ald. 22 Maart 1747, overl. te Orthen 14 Sept. 1806, dochter van Mr. Willem Hendrik v.B. en van Angela Peternella van Hurck.
