Notes about Johan Roseeuw

In de Amsterdamse doopregisters is een Jan Rosseuw te vinden, getrouwd met Catharina Schrunder. Hun dochter Anna Geertruij Gesina werd op 02-04-1783 in Amsterdam Rooms Katholiek gedoopt. Dit is de enige Geertruy Roseeuw die is geboren in 1783 of 1784 in Amsterdam en is dus mogelijk de latere vrouw van Govert Govertse.
Dit zou verklaren waarom de kinderen van Govert en Geertruy later ook Rooms Katholiek gedoopt werden. De naam Catharina komt overeen met die van een dochter van Govert en Geertruy, namelijk Catharina Englina.

Er is echter veel onduidelijkheid in de registers betreffende dit gezin.
De naam Catharina Schrunder is te vinden in enkele doopregisters als vrouw van:
Jan Rosseuw (kind Anna Geertruij Gesina ~02-04-1783)
Jan Rogé (kind Jan Barend ~24-02-1786)
Jan Rousseau (kind Ludovicus ~24-02-1786)
Joannes Rousseau (kind Regina Catharina ~04-04-1786)

Verder zijn een Joannes Rosé en Catharina Elisabeth Schrunder getuige bij de doop van Catharina Elisabeth Pelmer (~02-01-1791)

Bij de eerste twee kinderen waren de getuigen Barend Kelderman en zijn vrouw Geertruij Schrunder.
Bij de doop van Ludovicus waren Lodewijk Rousseau en Cornelia Dashorst getuige.
Bij de doop van Regina waren Lodewijk Rousseau en Regina Schrunder getuige.

Mogelijk betreft het hier twee gezinnen, maar zelfs dan zijn de data vreemd te noemen. Dit vond ook een pastoor die later aantekeningen maakte.

Bij de doop van Jan Barend is te lezen:
'Genoteerd 22 maart; jaar onbekend'. Inschrijving waarvan de pastoor de juistheid en de volledigheid betwijfelt

Bij Ludovicus:
''Genoteerd 7 april; ouders zijn op 25 mei 1777 gehuwd. Van ouders al een dochter in het register op 2 april 1723'. Inschrijving waarvan de pastoor de juistheid en de volledigheid betwijfelt

Het is mogelijk dat de kinderen herdoopt zijn, de verschillende getuigen op dezelfde datum lijken dit echter tegen te spreken.
