Notes about Regnerus Gerbens Bruiningh

uit Emden
1697. Regnerus Bruiiiing, geboren te Leeuwarden,
is als kandidaat hier tegelijk met Adolf Sibelras beroepen.
Hierover is veel te doen geweest, en door de partijen
met zooveel hevigheid tegen elkander gehandeld, dat
daarin sententiën van het Hof zijn gevallen. De partijen
beschuldigden hem van simonie. De Synode decideerde ten voordeele van Bruining', en hij werd door de Heeren
Staten bij resolutie van den 19 Junij gecontinueerd,
waarop hij bevestigd is in Julij door twee leden, buiten
de klassis, door de Synode op het Heerenveen gekozen
en gecommitteerd; hij werd lid der klassis den 5 Julij ,
en overleed den 16 September 1752, in den ouderdom
van 86 jaren. Zie over zijn zonen Herm. op Wijckel en
Joh. op Metslawier.
