De in 1712 geboren Cornelis van Vugt was bijvoorbeeld bij zijn huwelijk in 1742 nog onvermogend en op 26 april 1766 kon hij zijn testament (onder de 4000 gulden) niet anders ondertekenen dan met de drie eenvoudige letters C.V.V. (staande voor : Cornelis Van Vugt) verklarende niet te kunnen schrijven
