In 1931 trouwde hij met Elsa Muller, en scheidde van haar in 1935. Een jaar later trouwde hij met Levina Maria den Ottolander. Beide huwelijken bleven kinderloos.
In 1965 overleed hij aan een hartaanval. Hij ligt begraven op het Griekse eiland Spetses.

Zoon van Anthonie Wilhelmus van Veenendaal, chef de bureau der Nederlandse Spoorwegen, en Wilhelmina Helena Kok. Gehuwd op 5-3-1931 met Elsa Muller. Na echtscheiding (28-12-1935) gehuwd op 24-11-1936 met Levina Maria den Ottolander. Uit beide huwelijken werden geen kinderen geboren. Uit een relatie met Maria Steenema werd 1 dochter geboren.
