Notes about Pieter van Veen

Neef Marinus Meijer logeerde wel eens bij Oom Piet en tante Mien. Oom Piet bokste dan zogenaamd met hem en zei dan: "zal ik je een karpietje geven". Carpentier zou een bekende bokser zijn geweest uit die dagen. Hij herinnert zich ook de woning in de Tuinstraat. Heel klein met heel weinig voorzieningen. De afwas doen, gebeurde buiten samen met de buren.

Aangenomen 25 maart 1918 en geloofbelijdenis NH Kerk Oudshoorn en den Gnephoek op 29 maart 1918 ds Y.B. Kalma.

Notities overlijden: Als gevolg van de niervergiftiging was hij opgeblazen dik. De medici destijds konden deze ziekte niet genezen. Het was wachten op de dood.
