Melchior Ramblo, clothweaver, married Leyden Townhall (for bailiff and aldermen) 8-12-1656, marries RC Leyden 27-12-1656 Geertgen Arens, both are from “Lant van Limburch”. (attached)
So they come from somewhere in Limburg (Dutch or Belgium Limburg). Melchior has also the following surnames Rambo, Rammelot, Rammelo.
Geertgen Arens is also known under the name of Gertrude Arent Cools.
Children from this marriage, all baptised Leyden RC:
1. Marie Ramelet bapt 13-2-1657
2. Melchior Rambo bapt 26-9-1658,
3. Arnoul Ramelot bapt 21-2-1662
4. Catherine Ramelot bapt 21-11-1663

Geertgen Arents remarried as widow of Malcart Ramboo (long live the corruption of names) Leyden geref. 12-4-1675 Matthijs Arensz, widower of Ibel/Ybel Pas.

Geertgen Arents was a widow in or before 1674. The young daughter Marie was not yet 7 years old when she got een stepfather. It is thus not unusual that people knew here as a “daughter” of Matthijs. So it was one time Matthijsdr and the next time Melchiors(dr) or Melket.

That’s my explanation.
