    De ÙCbÙDSpaanse SuccessieoorlogÙC/bÙD ( 1701 - 1714 ) was voor de Franse koning Lodewijk XIV de laatste oorlog, die uitbarstte na de dood van de Habsburgse Karel II van Spanje . De belangrijkste reden was dat Lodewijk in de ogen van zijn vele kleine en grote rivalen de Europese machtsverhoudingen geheel dreigde te verstoren met een aanspraak op de Spaanse troon voor zijn kleinzoon Filips van Anjou .
