    Uit zeer betrouwbare familie-overleveringen weten we dat zij destijds gedurende een groot aantal jaren inwonend dienstbode was ten huize van de Axeler notaris Mr Isaac Mullie, gedoopt Hervormd te Axel 27-7-1784, zoon van David Mullie en Martha Baale. Deze Isaac was ongehuwd.
    Hij had een relatie met zijn dienstbode, alsdus de overleveringen waaruit 4 kinderen werden geboren.
    De heer Mullie had de wens met Cornelia te trouwen, maar zijn vader was hier ten zeerste tegen gekant.het kwam dus nooit tot een huwlijk. Een feit is dat de kleinzoon van Cornelia in Axel de bijnaam Karel de Mullie had.
    Notaris Mullievermeld in zijn testament opgemaakt t/o van de terneuzense notaris Mr Pieter Steenkamp dat het zijn laatste uitdrukkelijke wens is; dat indien zijn vader zou zijn overleden wanneer hij ook komt te overlijden , de vier kinderen van Cornelia erfgenamen zouden zijn van zijn vermogen.
    Na de dood van zijn vader wonen ze gazamelijk in het huis van zijn ouders.
