    Lucas is onderkoopman bij de VOC, schout bij nachten fiscaal van de Goasche vloot 8-9-1656, fiscaal op Ceylon 1661, keert in 1662
    terug naar Nederland. Op 8-6-1664 komt hij als koopman met zijn familie op het schip 'Outshoorn' weer in Batavia aan en in september van dat zelfde jaar gaat hij als fiscaal naar Cochin, waar zijn vrouw bij aankomst overlijdt. Hij is commandeur van Malabar 22-8-1667 en op 27-8-1669 benoemd tot directeur van Perzië, vanwaar hij in 1672 te Batavia terugkomt. Op 8-10-1672 wordt hij commandeur van de schepen, die ter bescherming van de zo genaamde Noordvaarders (uit Japan) tegen de Franse vloot uit Batavia wordt uitgezonden.
