Catharina was de weduwe van de pachter van de op het Lisp gelegen Franckx hoeve, deze was eigendom van de Abdij van Nazareth in Lier. Deze hoeve bestaat nu nog steeds.
De abdij van Nazareth bezat in en rond Lier en langs de Nete tot Pulderbos en Grobbendonk vele pachterijen en het is op deze boerderijen dat vele generaties Van Soom geleefd en gewerkt hebben.
