Notes about Pieter Kuijs

Pieter had met zijn vrouw een bakkerij met winkel in Purmerend. Zij werd echter
al gauw ziek en na haar overlijden sukkelde hij nog ruim een jaar door met
telkens andere huishoudsters. Begin 1907 vertrok hij weer naar Castricum, om bij zijn ouders in te trekken. Deze hadden, behalve een bakkerij, ook nog een boerderij in de Kerkbuurt. Pieter zei het bakkersvak vaarwel en koos voor de boerderij, zodat hij voortaan landman
of landbouwer werd.
