Hij vestigde zich eerst op 5-3-1873 in 's-Hertogenbosch, komende uit Leiderdorp. Op 16-12-1875 keerde hij volgens het bevolkingsregister weer terug naar Leiderdorp, doch twee dagen later vestigde hij zich wederom in 's-Hertogenbosch, waarschijnlijk omdat hij in het huwelijk ging treden met Antonia Johanna Olislagers.
