Notes about Arnoldus Josephus van der Burg

Arnoldus was in Oud en Nieuw Mathenesse opgeroepen voor de Nationale Militie en had nummer 9 gekregen. Zijn lengte is niet ingevuld. Hij had een ovaal aangezigt, hoog voorhoofd, blauwe ogen, een kleine neus, een ordinaire mond, ronde kin en bruine wenkbrauwen. De kleur van zijn haar is niet ingevuld, maar die zal dan ook wel bruin geweest zijn. Hij heeft zelf niet gediend, maar iemand betaald om in zijn plaats te gaan.
Arnoldus behoorde in 1889-1893 tot de groep hoogst aangeslagenen in 's rijks directe belastingen en was dus een zeer vermogend man.
