Jan Egginck is rond 1700 vertrokken van de Dunsborg onder Hengelo (Gld) naar erve Sletterinck. Vanaf toen nam hij de naam Sletterinck aan, alsook zijn kinderen. In eerste instantie veranderde Jan Egginck zijn naam naar Jan op Sletterinck en uiteindelijk werd het Jan Sletterinck. (Bron: stamboom familie Van der Mee: www. vandermee.org).
Bij huwelijk van zoon Arent Jansen wordt Jan Egginck al Jan Sletterink genoemd.

Engbert Gerritsen heeft op boerderij 'Sletterink' geboerd van ong. 1690 tot ong. 1703. Waarschijnlijk is Engbert toen overleden, want Jan Gerritsen Egginck werd toen bouwman op Sletterink, en nam ook de achternaam Sletterink aan. Eigenaar van deze boerderij was Wilhelmus Baarken. Voor 1690 boerde op Sletterink ene Hendrik Sletterink, die afkomstig was van de boerderij 't Waerle in Hengelo Gld.
