    Opkomst in militaire dienst: 09-03-1948 in de Frederik Hendrik kazerne te Venlo. Hij vertrok naar Nederlands-Indië op 24-09-1948 met de ”Johan van Oldenbarnevelt”.
    Na zijn aankomst op 16-10-1948 in de baai van Sabang (Semerang), werd hij gelegerd bij het 402 Bataljon Infanterie en had als taak Brenschutterinfanterie, met legernummer 280 614.726.
    Hij zat op Semerang en nog 15 andere buitenposten. Hij vertrok naar Nederland op 07-06-1950 met de ”U.S.N.S. Generaal Harry Taylor”. De boot legde op 01-07-1950 te IJmuiden aan.
    Hij werd gedemobiliseerd op 31-07-1950 te Amersfoort.
