Het is nu 15 jaar geleden, dat Helden zich opmaakte om het zilveren Doctorsjubileum van Dr.Joosten luisterrijk te vieren. Deze festiviteiten liggen'Ons nog allen versh in het geheugen. 'Thans na 15 jaren staan we voor het 40-jarig jubileum. De omstandigheden zijn geheel anders, waarom dit feest dan ook op meer intieme wijze zal gevierd worden, thans te Roermond. Dr. J.H.H.Joosten werd. geboren 3 November 1874 te Helden-Panningen. Hij genoot het lager onderwijs te Helden-Panningen en het middelbaar onderwijs te Rolduc. Zijn hoogere studies voltooide hij te Amsterdam en behaalde aldaar het Arts diploma 13 Juli 1901.Hij werd bevorderd tot Doctor in de genees- heel- en verloskunde, cum laude, te Gent 21 Juli 1906 en benoemd tot gemeente-geneesheer te Helden den 20 Juli 1901 en te Meijel den 1 Juli 1902. Hij is in beide functies gebleven tot 1 Januari 1937 .
Hij was oprichter van de groenekruis afdeelingen te Helden en te panningen, waarvan de eerste jaren voorzitter later medisch adviseur. Verder medeoprichter van Groene Kruisafdeling te Meijel, waarvan steeds medisch adviseur.

vanaf 1925 lid van den Voogdijraad met zetel te Roermond. Gedurende (1926—36) voorzitter van den geneeskundigen kring Noord-Limburg.
Bevorderaar van het muziekleven. Oprichter van den bond van fanfare- en harmonie gezelschappen "de Eendracht"in 1922, hiervan voorzitter tot 1938. Vanaf 1 Januari 1937 vestigde hij zich te Roermond. Naast de practijk bekleedde hij nog de volgende functies Medisch adviseur van den Limburgschen land- en tuinbouwbond. Lid van den Voogdijraad (hiervan plv. Voorzitter) Lid van den Reclasseeringsraad te Roermond. Lid van het bestuur van Moeder- schapszorg en van de kweekschool.voor vroedvrouwen te Heerlen.
Penningmeester van de federatie tot bestrijding der „Epilepsie". Regeeringsdeskundige bij de examens ter verkrijging van de aanteekening voor wijkverpleegsters. Voorzitter van den Raad van Toezicht van de Coöperatieve melkinrichting „St. Christoffel" te Roermond.
Lid van de commissie, van Arbitrage van het Ziekenfonds N. Limburg. Aan Dr.Joosten werden de volgende onderscheidingen verleend. Rothe Krèuz medaille 3de klasse 1 Februari 1920. Ridder van den H. Gregorius den Groote 29 Juli 1931. Ridder van Oranje-Nassau, 17 Augustus 1935 1 Van zijn hand verschenen verschillende medische uitgaven,
o.a. Raadgevingen voor jonge moeders, 1922 en 1930. Behandeling der epilepsie, 1938. Verzekeringswezen bij den L.L.T.B. 1939. Zelfbescherming 1940,- Epilepsie, 1941. Uit dit alles blijkt, dat Dr. Joosten een loopbaan achter den rug heeft, die wel besteed is geweest. Zijn daadwerkelijken steun aan den bouw der monumentale kerk te Panningen hieraan toegevoegd, geven blijk van een welbesteed dokters leven. Moge hij over 10 jaar zijn gouden doktersjubileum vieren, in dezelfde gezondheid, die hij thans geniet, en onderdezelfde gunstige omstandigheden, als zijn zilveren feest.
