Dinsdag 26 januari hoopt het echtpaar L. Lenders- Segers, Nieuwstraat 1 Helden-Dorp zijn gouden brui loft te vieren. Op die dag zal het vijftig jaar geleden zijn dat Leonardus Lenders uit Helden- Dorp en Gertruda Segers uit Panningen in de kerk van O. L. Vrouw van Ze ven Smarten te Panningen trouwden. Om meer dan een reden herinneren de gouden jubilarissen zich nog die dag en ook omdat 't toen zo bitter koud was. Toen Beijers Nadje van de Zandberg zijn bruid Baer- kes Krees zien Truu in de Groeze had afgehaald om met haar en de bruilofstgasten te voet naar de kerk te gaan, was het „zö biëstig kaod det de zakdeuk in de taes bevrore", aldus getuigde de toenmalige bruid. Nadje is geboren 20-2-1888 als zoon in een gezin van negen kinderen, drie jongens en zes meisjes. Vier zijner zusters zijn inmiddels overleden. De gouden bruid werd geboren op 2-6-1890 en stamt uit een gezin van zeven kinderen. Van haar vier broers leven er nog twee, alsook een van haar twee zusters. Beiden waren van'boeren afkomst en zo was het toen niet te verwonderen dat zij zich als man en vrouw op een boerderij vestigden en wel in de Bergen te Sevenum, waar zij tot 1930 woonden. Toen kwamen ze terug naar Helden en gingen wonen op de Zandberg no. 512 nu Dekeshorst no. 1 waar zij tot 1955 boerden. Toen werd hun wens vervuld hun oude dag wat rustiger aan te kunnen slijten en zoals oudere mensen daarnaar meestal verlangen, wat dichter bij de kerk te kunnen wonen en werd hun adres Nieuwstraat 1. Hun huwelijk werd gezegend met veertien kinderen, zeven jongens en even veel meisjes, waarvan er nog dertien in leven zijn. Een dochter trad in het klooster en een zoon emigreerde naar Canada. Negen kinderen zijn getrouwd en het aantal klein kinderen is 34. Geen der kinderen werd boer, een wel tuinder en op zijn bedrijf helpt vader Lenders nu en dan nog graag een handje mee, terwijl moeder nog mee het huishouden bereddert. Beiden zijn nog goed gezond en vergeten zelfs bij het lezen soms hun bril op te zetten. Nü zal a.s. dinsdag dus worden gefeest en dat begint om tien uur met een hoogmis tot intentie van het gouden paar in de St. Lambertuskerk. De gouden bruiloft wordt verder gevierd in zaal Jacobs waar tussen een en twee uur gelegenheid is om te feliciteren.
