In den name ons Heeren amen.
Bij den inhout van desen openbaere instrument sij condt ende kennelicke eenen jeegelicken, dat in den jaere ons Heeren 1715 den 23 dagh des maents 9bris, mij onderss subst secris comporteerende ten huise van Willem Smets, hebbe den selven in propere persoone gevonden ter presentie twee getuigen onder benomt, sijnde kranck licham ende versien met der hh sacramenten, nochtans sijne viff sinne wel machtigh ende gebruickende. Overdenkende datter niet sekerder en is dan de doodt, ende niet onsekerder dan de uire der selver, niet willende van deser weerlt scheyden sonder eerst van sijne tidelicke goederen gedisponeert te hebben, heeft daer omme gemackt bij dese sijn testament ende wttersten wille, willende ende begerende dat 't selve sal stadt gripen ende sijn volcomen effect sorteeren, 't sij bij forme van testament, wttersten wille, codicille ofte andersints, niet tegenstaende dat alle dese solemniteyten van wegen gerequireert hier inne niet onderhouden, de selve derogeerende wel expresselick mits dese.
In den eersten soo bevelt hij testateur sijne syle soo wanneer die wt sijn licham scheyden sal Godt almachtigh, Maria sijne gebenedide moeder, ende allen den hemelsche geselschappe.
Comende vorts tot der dispositie van sijne goederen hem bij Godt almachtigh verleent, soo wilt ende begeert hij als dat sijnen soone Peter Smets sal hebben sijne vuitsetsel gelick de andere gehadt hebben. Daerenboven voor sijnen arbeytsloon, voor mij testateur gedaen, sal hebben vrij ende liber de smits met het ganse toebehoor ende daertoe gehoorende, nergens van vuitgesondert, ende den slipsteen met sijn bij gehorige geretschap. Waer mede hij Peter tevreden is ende gene vorder gene arbeitsloon meer en can heysen ofte vorderen.
Ende soo begeert hij testateur dat het selve sal sijn efect sorteeren aen alle sijne puncten ende articulen.
Ende tot tecken der waerheyt soo heeft hij testateur, beneffens mij Subst secris, ende Jan Gommans ende Lennart Janssen als getuigen, desen testament eygenhandich ondertekent.
