Ten tijde van de naamsaanneming (1811) woonde Ittje Aardema te Gorredijk,
Aise, Wiebe en Lamke woonden toen te Terwispel, de plaats waar zij allen geboren
zijn.
In de archiefstukken welke in het gemeente archief te Beetsterzwaag bewaard
zijn, staat dat er aan de naam Aise in 1811 een andere (franse) invulling is geg
even.
Dit is echter tijdelijk geweest, want de naam Aizios (of een variant daarvan) is

met de familienaam Aardema niet weer geschreven.
