Ze woonden er als eerste bewoners van 1883 tot 1900.
In 1900 verkochten zij de boerderij aan Reinier Boeije.
De familie Van Cadsand ging toen wonen in de door hen gebouwde boerderij in Smidsschorre, Smidsschorreweg 4 te Sas van Gent. Ze woonden er tot 1916.
Het bedrijf werd overgenomen door de zoon Levinus van Cadsand, gehuwd met Catharina de Koeijer.
Zij werden in 1952 weer opgevolgd door hun dochter Catharina Neeltje van Cadsand en haar man Cornelis Dekker.
Jan van Cadsand bouwde in 1916 een hofstede voor zijn zoon Daniël van Cadsand aan de Smidsschorreweg 6 de Smidsschorrepolder te Sas van Gent.
