Daniël Guerand en Sara de Bruijne emigreerden naar de Verenigde Staten. Ze kwamen op 26-3-1913 met de ss “Nieuw Amsterdam” in New York aan. Zij vestigden zich in Williamson, in de staat New York. Elisabeth Guerand, een zuster van Daniël Guerand, zij was gehuwd met Jacobus Verburg, was al in 1902 naar de VS vetrokken. Adriana Guerand, een jongere zus, gehuwd met Izaak Riemens, emigreerde ook naar de VS. Zij kwam op 3-4-1914 in New York aan. Het heeft er alle schijn van, dat het gezin Guerand-de Bruijne weer naar Nederland is terug gegaan en zich in Stellendam heeft gevestigd om in 1922 met de “Rijndam” definitief naar de VS te vertrekken. Aankomst 22-7-1922 te New York. Hun dochter Francis, toen 8 jaar oud en hun zoon Jacob Anthonie, toen 6 jaar oud gingen ook mee.
