Francina ging na het overlijden van haar moeder Margritha op 6-jarige leeftijd naar een pleeggezin in Veenendaal. Dit pleeggezin was: Jacob Alberti en Weintje van Offeren, een kinderloos Veenendaals echtpaar. Francina vernoemde later kinderen naar haar pleegouders: Jacob en Weintje. De pleegvader getuigde bij Francina's huwelijk met Jacob van Ojik. Vermoedelijk is Francina van 1876 tot 4-7-1885 in dit gezin gebleven. Op die laatste datum vertrok zij naar Utrecht. Haar broer zat in Neerbosch en haar vader heeft ze nooit gekend.
