De vermelding "dros" in het begraafboek van Voorst duidt op de oorzaak van het overlijden van
Jenneken Henricks. Dros of kwade droes of malleüs was een bacillaire infectieziekte, waarbij
koorts, zwelling van de lymfeklieren en versterf van de huid en inwendige organen optrad. Omdat
men nog niet beschikte over antibiotica, konden dergelijke ziekten een dodelijke afloop hebben.
Het is dus begrijpelijk dat in het begraafboek melding werd gemaakt van deze gevaarlijk
besmettelijke ziekte.
