Hij kocht op 24-02-1418 de hofstede Clootwijck onder Almkerk van Floris van Klootwijk Pontiaensz. (ex matre Lijsbeth Floris van Dalem).
Floris was in 1422 richter van Almkerk en is daarmee in 1439 beleend (Maris), pas daarna is hij zich "van Clootwijck" gaan noemen, zonder dat ergens duidelijk blijkt dat hij tot dat geslacht behoort (Menalda, ook Frans van Mieris, Groot Charterboek anno 1755 dl. IV).
Bedijkt een groot deel (54 of 55 morgen, ongeveer 50 bunder) en bouwt een versterkt huiskasteeltje-adellijke hofstede met
rondom een gracht. ("Schepenen brief van Almkerk", 10 september 1534)
