Het begrip ‘Continental’ is bij vele kroeglopers nog onverbrekelijk verbonden met Betsie Morgenstern zaliger gedachtenis, die thans nog in een klein fotolijstje de zaak overziet, zoals haar vroegere grote schilderijen aan de wanden thans eveneens miniatuurtjes geworden zijn. Het is nog steeds een huiselijk en gezellig café. De sfeer in deze gelegenheid is qua ambiance te vergelijken met café Oud Eindhoven. Niet zo gek eigenlijk... Café Betsie Morgenstern was namelijk ook het geboortehuis van Jan van der Heyden. Het was een café waar je moest staan aan de bar. Op de van kleedjes voorziene tafeltjes werden kaartspelletjes gespeeld. Jokeren voor geld. Een gulden per spel met 4 stokken. Betsie leerde er Han (Hannes) van der Heyden kaarten. Ze liet hem winnen tot hij 25 gulden verzameld had (een kapitaal toen), om hem vervolgens alsnog in te maken. Bij Betsie Morgenstern zijn nooit carnavalsfeesten van d'Haone georganiseerd. Wel werd hier in 1966 - staande op het biljart - het idee geboren om een carnavalsvereniging voor de jongeren van Eindhoven op te zetten (d'Haone zijn opgericht in 1966 in Stad Rotterdam op de Markt en bestaan anno 2021 nog steeds).
