Notes about Pietie (Petronella) Posthumus

Dienstmaagd ofwel dienstbode te Leeuwarden. Pietie is in de onecht geboren op 4 september 1794, gedoopt op 24 september 1794 (in de Nederlands Hervormde kerk). Haar ouders zijn pas getrouwd op 13 september 1795. Haar vader Johannes Posthumus heeft bij proclamatie Pietie (Pietje) als zijn dochter van Aaltie Wijnants erkend. De foto van Pietie is zeer uitzonderlijk. Hij is gemaakt in 1867 te Tilburg. Pietie trouwde, 24 jaar oud, op woensdag 27 januari 1819 in Tilburg met Johannes van Ierlant, 29 jaar oud. Beroep Timmerman.

m Pietie hier in het katholieke zuiden niet bekend was of niet katholiek genoeg. In de DTB te leeuwarden (Ned. hervormde kerk) staat ze alleen als Pietie (je) ingeschreven. Getuige Agnietie (a) Wijnants de grootmoeder van Pietie. Pietie heeft Johannes leren kennen rond 1812. Pieti is waarschijnlijk na de napoleontische tijd, dus na 1815, want vader Johannes Posthumus is in 1817 overleden te Tilburg met Johannes van Ierlant verhuisd naar Tilburg de geboorteplaats van Johannes. Ze zijn daarna getrouwd in 1819 te Tilburg en hierna ergens tussen 1822 en 1823 teruggekeerd naar Leeuwarden, waar zoon Johannes (6) op tweejarige leeftijd is overleden en waar dochter Maria op 10 juni 1823 is geboren. De redenen van al dit verhuis zou van economische aard kunnen zijn. Als timmerman kon hij in Leeuwarden goed zijn brood verdienen. Hij had al ervaring en werkzaam geweest als timmerman tijdens zijn verblijf rond 1812. Zij woonden een tijdje aan de Grote Kerkstraat 53, waar Johannes ook zijn werkplaats had. Het huis staat (2020) er nog steeds.
