    Plaats: Uitvaart Tom Odems, In een volle Sint Jan werd woensdag 22 augustus 2007 de uitvaartdienst gehouden olv de plebaan Geert-Jan van Rossum. Het koor Gregoriana olv Joost van den Akker en organist Leon van Geldrop begeleidden muzikaal de dienst. De solisten waren de sopraan Stefanie Friede en Angelique Fischer-van den Akker die de Messa Da Requiem van Perosi vertolkten afgewisseld door de liederen Pié Jesu [ Fauré] en het Largo van Händel. Tot de aanwezigen behoorden naast de familie, collegae theaterdirecteuren, velen uit de musical en theaterwereld en leden van het College van B&W en nagenoeg alle medewerkers uit Theater aan de Parade. De plebaan noemde Tom Odems een vakman en vriend, iemand met een warme en vaderlijke belangstelling. Tom was een enthousiast en bruisende persoonlijkheid. Die zijn talenten [Evangelie] heeft benut en uitgezet. Vriend en cabaretier Set Gaaikema zinspeelde op de tekst van de rouwkaart die hem -door de afbeelding [een dansend paar] -vrolijk maakte. Gaaikema was blij voor Tom dat '...zijn dansende geest nu vrij is van zijn lichaam dat al zo lang niet meer dansen kon. 'Tom genoot tot de bodem van het glas. Op 18-jarige leeftijd had Tom al een donornier gekregen. Vorige week moest hij weer aan de dialyse en vroeg of dat ook in het buitenland zo vol zat hij van plannen en mogelijkheden. Het heeft niet meer zo mogen zijn,' aldus Gaaikema. die een ode bracht aan de engel Tonny met haar opbeurende lach.'
