    Op 13 september 1944 werd een trein met Duitse gewonden door geallieerde vliegtuigen beschoten. De gewonden, velen naakt en met noodverbanden, ondergingen nogmaals een afstraffing. Locomotief en wagens raakten in brand, munitie ontplofte en vele gewonden verbrandden levend. Twee uur later werd dezelfde trein nogmaals aangevallen. Ditmaal werd onder anderen de Nederlandse machinist Louis Buvelot getroffen. Hij zou later die dag overlijden aan zijn buikwonden. Hij was getrouwd met S.M. van Haaren en vader van 7 kinderen.
