Weijnschenk vrijwel geheel door brand verwoest. De kostbare inboedel, waaronder vele Indische antiquiteiten en waardevolle schilderijen, is verloren gegaan. WEDEROPBOUW „MATARAM". De heer Wouter Hamdorff heeft een verzoek om dispensatie der bouwverordening ingediend voor den wederopbouw van het landhuis van den heer Weijnschenk. B. en W. wenschen deze dispensatie te verleenen op voorwaarde van grondafstand aan beide zijden van het perceel en storting in het wegenfonds. De heer Dijkman (R.-K.) meent, dat men hier niet een uitzonderingsgeval te doen heeft, omdat de villa is afgebrand. Op deze wijze v«#rdt de heer Weijnschenk gedreven op kosten, welke de verzekering natuurlijk niet vergoedt. De heer T enKroode (R.-K.) gaat met het advies van B. en W. accoord. Men moet met het wegenfonds geen uitzonderingen maken. De heer A. v. d. B r i n k (R.-K. Volksp.): Ik vind den grondafstand aan beide kanten wel wat,veel. De voorzitter: In dit geval niet. Hier betreft het iemand, die het zeker betalen kan. Het advies van B. en W. wordt dan zonder hoofdelijke stemming aangenomen.
