    De lijst van Joodse ingezetenen van het Duitse Rijk van 1933 -1945 legt de individuele levens en biografie gegevens vast van ongeveer 600.000 personen, die verbleven in het Duitse Rijk (grenzen van het Rijk conform 31 december 1937) en die werden vervolgd vanwege hun Joodse afkomst of geloof.

    Volkstellingen werden uitgevoerd op 16 juni 1933 en 17 mei 1939. Deze twee volkstellingen geven informatie over het aantal Joodse ingezetenen in Duitsland. Desalniettemin, de dramatische afname van het Joodse deel van de bevolking in de jaren 30 ten gevolge van emigratie en deportatie alsmede de veroudering van de bevolking en derhalve de daling in het geboortecijfer in de Joodse bevolking wordt duidelijk: Terwijl er in juni 1933 bijna 500.000 leden van de Joodse geloofsgemeenschap zijn geregistreerd, waren er in mei 1939, verspreid over het grondgebied van het oude Rijk, slechts ongeveer 234.000 mensen van Joodse afkomst over.
