Notes about Johannes van Hamond

Op 7 februari 1948 vierden Jan van Hamond en Marie Koppens hun gouden bruiloft,


een gebeurtenis die in dit tijd niet zoveel voor kwam als tegenwoordig. In die tijd woonden ze aan de Beekseweg 16 waar ze stil leefden na een arbeidzaam leven. Vóór die tijd boerden ze op een kleine bouwvallige boerderij aan de Bremstraat die na hun vertrek onbewoond achterbleef, al snel in verval raakte en later helemaal gesloopt en opgeruimd is. In de tijd dat ze aan de Beekseweg woonden verrichtte Jan hier en daar nog wel hand- en spandiensten op het gebied van de landarbeid. Jozef de Vries (Gust zijn broer) maakte op verzoek van de familie van Hamond foto's van het 50-jarig huwelijksfeest. De hier geplaatste foto is gemaakt bij het verlaten van de kerk na de plechtige heilige mis uit dankbaarheid.
