Biografie: Woonde in de heerlijkheid Zuilenstein.
In de bijdrage over Oudenhorst (Scarpenzele, II (1994), p20) kwam Rutger Hermansz voor als de boze buurman die het bruggetje over de Grift had afgesloten. Deze Rutger heeft een omvangrijk nageslacht gekregen waarvan enkele takkenverschillende achternamen dragen. Rutger Harmensz woonde op de boerderij "het Hek" te Ginkel onder Zuylestein. Vermeld wegens geleverde maar niet betaalde samelschapen. op 25 Mrt 1639. Ruzie met buren over afsluiten van de brug over de Grift, in de Cortouwsedijk (RAU, Hof van Utrecht 252-56, 1659). In 1686 ook eigenaar van Klein Oevelaar. Stelt zijn zoons Jan en Harmen als exec. (not. Nic. van Vechten, U064a008, dd 18Nov 1679). Testament op alle kinderen, niet met namen genoemd (not. Carel van Doorn, U060a006, dd 4 Aug 1686).
