Mr Stalpers, age 70 of Little Rock, Arkansas died Monday, January 18, 2010 at Baptist Health Medical Center. He was born on April 26, 1939 to his late parents Joseph William Stalpers and Christina Maria Pielage in Haarlem, Holland. He attended hotel school at Horecaf Vakschool, Den Haag prior to beginning his hotel career in the US at The Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles. He opened the Radisson Hotel in Charlotte, NC in 1977. He recently worked for Daly Seven Hotels in Danville, VA.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Maryann Stalpers; 2 children, Kathy Maner of Charlotte, NC and J.P. Stalpers (Melissa) of Little Rock, AR; 5 siblings, Joke Vandersteen, Jackie Vanwezel both of Haarlem, Holland, Guss Stalpers of Mill, Holland, Paul Stalpers of Heemstede, Holland and Ben Stalpers of Ruinen, Holland; 8 grandchildren, Lauren Lilly, Miranda and Amanda Maner all of Charlotte, NC, Joseph and Hayden Stalpers both of Little Rock, AR, Joshua, Julia, and Benjamin Snell, all of Little Rock.
