Notes about JoAn Frances Schilperoort

Obituary (excerpt)
JoAn Frances Schilperoort, our dear aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2021. She was born on December 6, 1938 to Johannes (John) Schilperoort and Anna (Annie) Waagemans who were immigrants from the Netherlands. She was always very proud of her Dutch heritage.

JoAn worked for many years in the accounting department at J C Penney's. She was up around 4:00 am to downtown before most of us were waking up. She was always reliable and never missed a day. JoAn was a kind and devoted daughter to her parents. After her father passed, she and her mother had a very special relationship and relied so much on each other. She was an avid reader and loved classic movies and sitcoms. She loved to crochet and had quite a collection of yarn. She made beautiful afghans, hats and baby gifts for new mothers in the ward and in her own extended family. She loved to reminisce about days in her youth spent at Bear Lake and enjoying the activities there. She had a special place in her heart for the family dogs. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.

JoAn is survived by her nephew Alex (Stacy) and their children Hunter and Alexandria. She also had many cousins and neighborhood friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Herman, better known as Skip. Thank you to her cousins, friends and neighbors, and the Wentworth at Willow Creek for their special care.
