    Aan de gevolgen overleden.
    Hedenochtend ongeveer half negen is de 32-jarige werkman J.A.M. P., wonende aan de van Mierisstraat,
    bij het verrichten van werkzaamheden aan het dak van de Witte Sociëteit op hetPlein, daarvan afgevallen.
    De ongelukkige bezweek vrijwel onmiddellijk aan de bekomen verwondingen.
    P. was de in de dakgoot bezig een last van 200 kg neer te laten langs een door electriciteit bewogen kabel.
    Op een gegeven moment schoot het touw van een hijs balken los, daarbij den balk meesleurende.
    P., die bij de hijsinrichting in de dakgoot stond, verloor dientengevolge zijn evenwicht en strortte van een
    hoogte van 17½ m neer, met het reeds gemelde droevige gevolg.
    Blijkens het onderzoek heeft niemand eenige schuld.
    Het lijk van den getroffene is naar het Gem. ziekenhuis aan de Zuidwal overgebracht.
