Op 17/03/1908 vertrok Jacobus toen hij getrouwd was met 4 kinderen naar Amsterdam en zij woonden gedurende 7 maanden in de 1ste Oosterparkstraat 95/1 hoog. Omdat het zo kort was en hij behanger van beroep was wordt aangenomen dat het misschien een klusje was. Jacobus was ook nog matrassenmaker.
