Notes about Cornelis Anthonisz Kruijthof

Cornelis heeft in zijn leven veel tegenslagen ondervonden, waaronder veesterfte. In 1677 wordt dan ook beslag gelegd op zijn bezit door Bastiaan van der Lisse, rentmeester van Aemilius Cools, oude burgemeester van Gouda. Zijn vader komt echter tussenbeide en betaalt voor hem de achterstallige pachtsom. In het daarop betrekking hebbende contract, dat toch voor de pachtheer alle financiele schade uit de weg ruimt, lezen we de schijnheilige woorden: 'uyt consideratie dat de voorz. Cornelis Theunis Kruyhof belast is met een vrouwe ende een huys vol kleyne kindern'. Ook is het vreemd als in 1696 de schippersknecht Oosterman bij een geschil met Cornelis 'desnoots onder selomenele Ede' moet bevestigen, dat hij slechts 25 kolen heeft ingenomen. Vader Teunis blijkt niet veel fiducie in zijn zoon Cornelis gehad te hebben want in 1675 koopt hij voor 150 gulden contant en 340 in obligaties de erfpacht van een huis enz.en zet dit op de naam van de kinderen van Cornelis. De obligatie wordt op 3-11-1679 afgelost. (ORA Mijnsheerenland 11, fo.13).
