Hij werd in 1928 kapucijn en ontving in 1935 de priesterwijding.
Na zijn studie in Rome doceerde hij in Udenhout kerkgeschiedenis.
Vanaf 1964 woonde hij in Rome, waar hij zich in verschillende functies
(onder andere als lid van het hoofdbestuur) geheel wijdde aan de vernieuwing van de orde.
Hij stond internationaal bekend als predikant en geestelijk leider en heeft in die functie
ongeveer de hele wereld afgereisd.
