In het DTB staan geen relaties van deze Jan Snikkers genoemd. Het is dus een gokje of dit de goede is; het klopt qua leeftijd en zijn echtgenote Jannetje de Rot overlijdt in 1788 ook in Delfshaven.

gedoopt als Johannes Snitquer (op de internet doopakte staat Johannes Fïntquer, met een trema op de i, maar dit is een leesfout: hier staat Johannes Snitquer); spelling op huwelijksakte Jan Snikkers. Waarom is dit de Jan Snikkers die met Jannetje de Rot getrouwd is? Zijn broer Hendrik (1726) en zuster Anna Maria (1728) treden in totaal 5x op als getuige bij de doop van zijn kinderen. Ook zijn Jan Snikkers en Jannetje de Rot zelf weer getuigen bij de doop van Wentie de Knijp (1762), dochter van Maritje Snikkers en Adrianus de Knijp. Wentie is genoemd naar haar grootmoeder.
