Notes about Johannes Crellius

Johannes Crellius verkreeg te Middelburg, als ondermeester aan de Latijnse school, onder het rectoraat van Jac. Cruterus, salaris over 9 maanden, verschenen 6.6.1604. Wellicht is hij dezelfde als zijn naamgenoot (ook Querellius genoemd) van Culemborch, die als opvolger van Philips Lasson op 7.9.1606 werd aangenomen als rector der Latijnse school te Brielle, om 1.1.1607 met zijn familie daarheen te verhuizen.Gelet op de toestand van de school werd op 6.1.1609 zijn ontslag in bedenking gehouden; hij verzocht zelf op 13.5.1609 om zich naar elders te begeven en werd opgevolgd door Fr. Villerius.

Op 5.6.1610 te Franeker als student ingeschreven: "Johannes Crellius Wittebergensis, medicus Dordracenus, renunciatus medicine docter."

Crellius kwam dus uit Wittenberg. In Wittenberg werd in sept. 1557 ingeschreven als student: "Johannes Krell Brandenburgensis" (Album Academiae Vitebergensis Lipsiae, van Foerstemann, 1841).
