    Poppo Hommens en Broer Sypkens worden als gezamenlijke landeigenaren in de "oesterse halve uthmede" te Midwolda genoemd.

    Kort voor 24 november 1563 wordt door de stad Groningen een mandaat gezonden aan "Poppe Hommens oft sijn soene" te Oostwold.

    Popko Hommes te Oostwold komt voor 26 mei 1565 en 31 december 1565. Volgens de rekeningen van de kerk te Midwolda gebruiken in 1564 "Poppo Hommens sonen" land voor een huur van 5 Emder gl., Poppo Hommens 7 deimt meedland, terwijl ook Hommo Poppens land gebruikt. In 1573 blijkt nog dubieus te zijn 7 daalders huur van land, nu in gebruik bij Tako Tonckens en destijds bij Poppo Hommens in gebruik "altoes noch tusschen Tako en Hommo te verclaeren". Poppo Hommens wordt nog genoemd onder de huurders van Midwolder kerkeland in 1573; de rekening 1574 heeft geboekt "Hommo Poppens nu Tako Tonckens".
