Eens per week gingen professor Biemond, zijn stafleden en assistenten naar de afdeling Pathologische Anatomie van professor Deelman om de bevindingen van de obducties aan te horen en te bezien. Professor Biemond trok dagelijks een schone, hagelwitte gesteven en zorgvuldig gestreken jas aan. Professor Deelman, de patholoog anatoom, had iets plagerigs over zich en als hij daartoe de kans kreeg legde hij graag een smerige hand op de schouder van professor Biemond.

Vervolgens streek hij dan met zijn vuile hand over de schouder en de mouw. Vieze bruine vlekken waren het gevolg. Professor Biemond, die Arie heette, gruwde daarvan. Er was nog iets. Biemond vond Arie geen mooie naam, echte intimi mochten hem Aay noemen, maar zeker niet Arie. Voor alle anderen was het kortweg professor. Ook hier kon professor Deelman het plagen niet onderdrukken. Te pas en te onpas riep hij “Arie”. Het liefst buiten en van zo groot mogelijke afstand. Hij zette beide handen aan de mond en dan galmde het over het WG-terrein: “Arie, Arie.” Deelman is de enige uit wiens mond ik de roepnaam Arie heb gehoord. Als tijdens zijn leven aan Biemond was gevraagd of een straat naar hem mocht worden vernoemd zou die straat nu niet Arie Biemondstraat hebben geheten.
